The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay hosted a special event for the public that gave fans a chance to meet and greet with San Antonio Spurs player Danny Green.
The event was from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on July 11 in front of the Papaya store. The event was open to the public. Fans encouraged to bring something for Green to autograph and take a picture with him. The event was completely free and was on a first-come first-serve basis.
Fans who attended, such as Vanessa Dominguez, made sure to arrive early enough to get their foot in the door to meet Green.
“We arrived at around 6 p.m. and we waited about an hour to meet Danny Green,” Vanessa Dominguez said. “It was well worth it though, we got the picture and the shirt signed, which was exactly what we wanted.”
The event even caught attention from people who had never been to the outlets before, such as Spurs fan Helen Torres.
“This was my first time coming to the outlets and I’m glad that I got to meet someone from my favorite team as well,” Torres said. “I am looking forward to going and shopping and will for sure return.”
Torres was excited she was lucky enough to meet a player from her favorite team and said she was happy that he was nice enough to shake her hand.
“I am such a huge Spurs fan, so when I found out that Danny Green was going to be here we had to come,” Torres said. “It was so exciting being able to meet someone from my favorite team. I was extremely nervous.”
The line started at suite 421 and wrapped all the way around the corner of the building. It was on a first-come first-serve basis, so after a certain time, people were not able to get in line anymore. The Outlets held a few contests at several different stores over the weekend for participants who happened to miss the event. Prizes included signed Spurs merchandise from Danny Green. The winners were announced on July 16.
