¡Otra Fest!, presented by House of Rock, is Corpus Christi’s unique three-day, indoor music festival attributed to Texas music. The festival will take place at House of Rock, located on 511 Starr Street, and will be held from Sept. 21–23.
¡Otra Fest! includes an array of genres from national and regional bands in Texas, including double-time Grammy nominee Fastball from Austin, Texas. The lineup includes The Bright Light Social Hour, Whiskey Shivers, Wild Moccasins and many more! Over 30 bands will perform on the two stages within House of Rock.
“We are focusing on hosting a stellar event showcasing a variety of Texas music in downtown Corpus Christi,” said Casey Lain of House of Rock in an interview with Crush Corpus Christi.
Anticipated attendance numbers soar to an average of 600 people every day through the weekend. Heidi Hovda from C.C. Music Office commented on the economic impact of hosting music festivals.
“Music is an economic development initiative. People travel for music, people will travel for festivals and there’s a lot of economic impact that can be generated from hosting music events.”
House of Rock was established in 2005 and has since become one of the city’s most popular venues for live music and entertainment. There is a collective effort with House of Rock and sponsors of ¡Otra Fest! to make it worthwhile for ticket holders to attend every day from opening act to final encore. Food trucks will be in attendance as well as an exclusive extended menu for House of Rock.
Friday’s lineup begins at 5 p.m. and will feature Superfonicos, Emily Wolfe and Nautical Nation along with many others.
