Autumn is near so everyone cheer! Leaves are falling left and right, and so are the super cute trends for the upcoming season. But before we can talk about trends, lets go through the fundamentals of this fall: PRINTS!
This season will bring a wide variety of prints from movie flashbacks to all new boujee feels. If you don’t have one of these fall essentials in your closet already, you are sure to find at least one of them take home worthy.
The mismatching and even quilting of patterns and prints has become a prominent factor in this year’s runways. Fall 2018 prints are energizing and no lack of splendid hues are to show up out of the blue through the fall and winter season.
The “Clueless” Plaid
Whether its high-end or an affordable find, plaid is making a comeback after years of its debut in the iconic movie “Clueless.” Designers are using the pattern in a variety of ways from pleats to trench coats, and we can’t forget the iconic skirt look. The Tanya Taylor runway demonstrated a red and blue plaid set with a calfskin trimmed unsettle sew skirt, which I believe added diversity to a comeback print, making it one of my favorite pieces from this year’s shows.
This year, the scarf prints are not your average bulky, warm scarf but rather breezy and airy with an almost tropical like texture. Oversized styles exhibited in the runways were evidently displayed to be used as not only an accessory but clothing itself. Brands like Saint Laurent and Versace created wonders with this that showcased gem and metallic colored pieces for an eye-catching runway and street look.
Logo prints are back! What was once thought of as tasteless fashion has come back in full swing. Balenciaga showed a love for their logo with a black sweater that featured crisp, white logos. Fendi showed a fur sweater with their logo emblazoned across the front. Philipp Plein showed a dramatic black trench coat with the name of the fashion house across the waist, right beneath a black fur collar. Armani showed their logo in black on a muted, clean-cut black suit.
However, for all budget friendly gals looking to be in style, you don’t have to break the bank to get these looks. You can snatch a “Clueless” plaid crop for less than $20 at Target or a funky metallic inspired scarf from the local Corpus Christi boutique Julian Gold’s.
