Witches, wizards and muggles flocked to Brewster Street Icehouse on Oct. 11 to attend WizardFest, a celebration of the Harry Potter franchise. Attendees drank butterbeer as they played Quidditch Pong and answered tricky trivia questions. Towards the end of the night, the best dressed entered a costume contest to see who had the most iconic outfits.

Harry Potter fans gathered to celebrate their favorite bespectacled young wizard. Attendee Ryan Stubel has been a fan of Harry Potter from the start.

“I’ve been a fan since the beginning,” said Stubel. “I first saw it in big theatre, and it just kind of trailed off from there.”

The night was kicked off with a classic game of trivia, starting with easy questions and moving onto trickier ones that only die-hard fans may remember. The final question asked what Luna Lovegood’s patronus was (a rabbit, of course).

Fans got to later test their creative prowess during a costume contest. Over 40 contestants entered, showcasing a hodge-podge of iconic Harry Potter characters. The audience chose the best ones by cheering for their favorites. There were many honorable mentions, like Neville Longbottom’s frightening grandma, but the winner was Helga Hufflepuff.

Overall, it was a “magical” night that is sure to have “cast a spell” on many for years to come.
