Advising Corner: mark your calendars for these important dates


March 11–15: Spring Break
March 15: Campus closed
March 18: Summer/fall 2019 schedule will be available for viewing at
April 1: Graduate (Doctoral, Master), honor students, veterans and athletes begin registration
April 2: Seniors (90+ credit hours) and Post-Bac begin registration
April 3: Juniors (60–89 credit hours) begin registration
April 4: Sophomores (30–59 credit hours) begin registration
April 5: Freshman (1–29 credit hours) begin registration and Last day to drop a spring 2019 (full term) class

Listed below are some tips and resources that are helpful for the registration process.

Check for registration holds at,
—Login to SAIL with your Islander ID and password, then click the student tab, Students Records link, View Holds to view all current holds.
—Registration holds will prevent you from registering for classes and should be taken care of before registration.

2. Review your degree plan by accessing Degree Planner,
—Degree Planner is an easy-to-use online academic planning tool that helps students see what courses and requirements are needed for graduation.
— Islander ID and Password will be needed to log into Degree Planner.

3. Set up an appointment to visit with your Academic Advisor by going to,
—Students that wish to change major will need to speak to a new advisor.

4. Review course offerings in SAIL
—Select Term, Course Subject and then click View
—If you wish to view all the courses offered for the term select All Subjects
—Online mini-terms are only for the students admitted to the completely online program
—Watch this helpful video for tips on how to read the schedule,
5. Verify you meet all prerequisites of the course you wish to register at,

Now you’re ready to create a class schedule that works for you. Please remember to have your call numbers (CRNs) handy, always have a plan B, register early and to not panic if you run into a problem.
