‘Game of Thrones’: predicted deaths during Battle of Winterfell
April 28, 2019
After 595 days, “Game Of Thrones” finally made its highly anticipated return with the premiere for the final season. Two winters have come and gone, leaving fans plenty of time to imagine the wildest theories that could be in store for the final six episodes. But with what is argued to be the biggest battle in history approaching, it seems many of our favorite characters are doomed to fall. Here is the top five characters most likely to die in the Battle Of Winterfell.
- Grey Worm
Grey Worm basically sealed his fate last week when he talked about traveling to Naath with Missandei after the war is won. Considering Game Of Thrones’ track record, it seems that nobody will truly achieve the idea of a “happy ending.” Leading the Unsullied in the fight against the dead, Grey Worm will constantly be on the front lines leading the charge. Although fighting for House Targaryen, it seems more fitting that he will die for Missandei of Naath.
- Jorah Mormont
Ser Jorah seems to be making peace with everything around him. He’s accepted that Tyrion is Dany’s hand, advising her to listen to him no matter what. He’s showed his gratitude and appreciation to Sam, agreeing to represent his family by wielding Heartsbane. He has also secured his place next to Daenerys side, willing to fight for her at all cost. But it seems his loyalty might lead him to his defeat. Despite being friend-zoned, what better way to die than for the woman he loves.
- Davos Seaworth
Although not a fighter, it seems unlikely that Davos will sit on the sidelines as the dead approach. If the dead push through the walls of Winterfell, every living soul with a sword will need to join the fight. With the second episode heavily highlighting the young fighter with greyscale, it seemst a given that Davos will die protecting the young girl. It’s almost poetic because he wasn’t there to protect Shireen, considering he was more of a father to her.
- Theon Greyjoy
Theon has seemed to have a change of heart since the season seven finale. Not only did he find the courage to rescue his sister, but he made the hard choice to join the fight for the living instead of fighting for his home. His commitment to House Stark, and more so to Sansa, has allowed for him to be redeemed, despite his selfish actions. It would be symbolic if he died for the house that raised him.
- Brandon Stark
There have been many theories floating around that the Night King will be defeated at the end of this episode, and the rest of the season will be the fight for the Iron Throne. If these are to be believed, many characters’ storylines will be complete, most of which is Bran.
After being able to reunite with his family and already making amends with Jamie, Bran will arguably do everything in his power to fulfill his destiny and kill the Night King. With the battle either ending with the living killing the Night King or the Night King getting Bran, it seems Bran will do anything to stop the Night King here and now.
“Game Of Thrones”: The Battle Of Winterfell will air tonight, Sunday, April 28, 2019.
