Is Disney+ replacing Netflix?

As you may have heard from everywhere, Disney+ is the new streaming service that is taking on other previous streaming services already made. Disney+ has enlightened people of all ages who deep down will always have a heart of a child.

After a long time of waiting, the Walt Disney Company finally launched their new app, Disney+ on Nov. 12. For only 6.99 dollars a month, Disney+ has gained 10 million subscribers in only one day. Disney+ includes content such as Disney classics, Star Wars Saga, Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, new releases and much more to offer. Fans have been thriving over binge watching every part of what Disney+ has in store.

Senior Mikayla Roell believes that it was a great idea to create an app that allowed people to enjoy classic Disney films. “I don’t have it yet but I think it is a great idea to have this platform,” said Roell. “It gives the younger generation the opportunity to be able to watch classic movies and TV shows. …However, I think the Lady and the Tramp remake should have been in the theaters.”

Since the release of Disney+, Netflix had to step up their game by collaborating with Nickelodeon. With Disney+ as Netflix’s competitor, Netflix had to keep their customers entertained by adding Nickelodeon classics such as Victorious, iCarly, Sam & Cat, Jinxed and many more Nickelodeon originals.

Netflix customers pay an average of 15 dollars or more a month compared to users now paying only 6.99 dollars a month for Disney+. With that being said, people would rather pay less to get rid of Netflix and binge watch Disney+ to their heart’s desires. The Disney+ platform has become increasingly popular over the past few days it has been released for.

Junior Celeste Molano, a Disney fan who was excited for the launch of Disney+, was very happy how the app turned out. “Yes, I have bought it and I am really enjoying it so far,” said Molano. “It’s all my favorite movies and shows all in one place. They started a new Star Wars series that was very good so I’m very excited about that. …I’m thinking of quitting Netflix and just watch Disney+.”

Disney+ has already made an impact on people’s lives today by allowing their dreams to come true as they can watch all their beloved Disney movies. Will you allow Disney+ to become part of your world?
